Langrisser Day No.39

New SSR Heroes Profiles

Dear Commander,

Happy Langrisser Day!

Langrisser's all-new update "Rift! The Divine Light and the Mighty Dragon" is finally here. New SSR heroes from Tsuruno, Azusa and Oboro make their debut. Commanders, have you obtained the heroes you wished for? You may still have doubts about the skills and how to use the new heroes. This Langrisser Day, we are happy to bring you a guide on these two new SSR heroes!

SSR Azusa

Talent

After entering the map, Azusa's talent provides a considerable amount of boost to the ATK stat, and she can replace INT with 1x of ATK. With her 3C and other skills that can shift from different damage modes, Azusa is able to strike enemies hard by attacking their weakest defensive types.

After a battle starts, Azusa can gain the Twin Elemental Protection effect and +3 mobility. When the Twin Elemental Protection is attacked for the first time, the enemy hero will attack with either ATK or INT, whichever is the lowest. This effect significantly improves Azusa's survivability against single-target threat heroes.

In addition, when Azusa uses a physical skill/magic skill, she will obtain a stack of [Hard]/[Soft] buff respectively. After Azusa has gained both [Hard] and [Soft] buffs, as long as she does not carry the Twin Elemental Protection effect, she will consume both [Hard] and [Soft] buffs at the end of action, restore 100% of her soldiers' health and regain the Twin Elemental Protection effect.

Class Paths

Azusa has lower HP and DEF stats in the Ancestral Chief path than in the Venerable Exorcizer path, but a higher ATK stat. Due to the free protection effect of her talent, killing Azusa before her shield is broken is almost an impossible task. Furthermore, the ATK boost provided by her talent, as well as her  ATK/INT- shift skills, make her a great damage dealer. Considering that she has better ATK stat on the Venerable Exorcizer path, it would be wise to keep her on this path.

Soldiers

Azusa's Twin Elemental Protection effect grants her outstanding survivability, thus soldiers to enhance her damage would be a better choice than those that focus on defense.

Normally, Fighting Monks and Zealots are both good options. Fighting Monks can strengthen Azusa's HP recovery. When Azusa is able to maintain her boosts, Zealots will have a better overall performance.  In addition, State Guard/Heavensguard would be a good choice against the Calvary/Infantry enemies respectively.

Summary

Azusa's strengths lie in her outstanding individual survivability and single-target damage potential. Also, her skill CD cycle is relatively short. Even if her attacks cannot finish off the enemy, she can throw a wrench into their plans. Azusa also has good endurance and can recover a small amount of HP for her team.

SSR Oboro

Talent

Oboro's talent grants a 20% increase in damage dealt when he takes the initiative to enter a battle, regardless of whether he is in his normal form or dragon morph.  When he has no soldiers, the damage inflicted by enemy troops will be reduced by 90% before entering a battle, granting him a shield equal to 25% of his Max HP at the end of the action. These abilities are usually triggered in his dragon morph, after his soldiers have been sacrificed.

In addition, when Oboro dies, he can deal 0.5x AoE damage, as well as inflicting a permanent debuff that increases the damage taken by 20% to the enemy unit who killed him. This debuff works together with the effects of the stat boost and damage boost provided by the Dragon Valor status. When Oboro perishes with 4 stacks of Dragon Valor, he can cause massive amounts of damage to the attacking enemy, potentially taking it with him.

Class Paths

Oboro has better HP and MDEF stats in the Spirit Dragon Envoy path, but better DEF and SKILL stats in the Battle God path. The special effect of Oboro's Heart Bond complements the Spirit Dragon Envoy path, whereas Oboro is able to wear heavy armor with higher DEF and better equipment effects in the Battle God path.

Soldiers

When it comes to choosing soldiers, the priority of Oboro is to survive until his dragon morph. Considering this, Steel-Winged Warriors and Heavy Centurions are usually good choices for him.

Summary

After stacking 4 stacks of Dragon Valor, Oboro's overall stats become outstanding, making him a big threat on the battlefield. But before that, he needs some time to accumulate stacks of Dragon Valor, which requires him to cooperate with other supportive heroes.
