Positioned as a heavy frigate with electronic disruption features, the Frost is covered by powerful external armor and performs well when working with interceptors and ships with strong firepower.
The Frost's prototype was first created around 332 BG, when EDC was Glick-B. To free itself from the Glick-A government, controlled by different culture, belief, and race, the Glick-B initiated Project ""Western Wind"". This project was a strategic plan to develop a ship that was powerful enough to combat Glick-A's heavy assault ships, and to prepare for a war against Glick-A's control. The Frost's role was set to be a heavy disruptor that had strong shield and armor but at the expense of firepower. With a disruption generator, it could disrupt enemies on the battlefield, impacting their judgment of the battle situation.
After the addition of a 10-shield and successful test flights, Project ""Western Wind""'s R&D department handed the Frost's design over to small, civilian companies for mass production. The Shimadzu family, who was quite unknown back then, was among them. This manufacturing method increased production, but brought with it quality issues. However, this didn't hinder them from taking advantage of the collapse of Glick-A's government plagued by corruption and financial issues. The Glick-B launched a war of independence around 340 BG, with a large number of the Frost frigates put into use. The war was finally ended under the Great Council's mediation. Frost's outstanding performance in the war was essential to Glick-B's victory and independence from Glick-A.
Today, the Frost uses a self-adaptive defense generator which requires a strong power source to activate. It can provide a heavy shield against the enemy under some circumstances. The activation of the on-board modules requires the rearrangement of energy pipelines after its superdevice is fully charged. This design, though lowering velocity, ensures the ship's security. The emergency shield recharge extender powers the propulsion system with recycled surplus energy to enhance the additional shield energy core. The shied can be recovered with only one charge with only one charge and grants enhanced recovery rate. This design ensures the complementarity of tactical component and different units while enhancing the ship's maneuverability to a great degree.
In the hands of veterans, the Frost can travel freely among the enemy fleet and distract them, making it perfect for Guerrilla warfare.
