As an upgraded version of the Crane, the Phoenix also serves as both an assault ship and command ship on the battlefield. Its strong mobility and good electronic compatibility make it a good enhancer to boost the performance of the fleet.
In 1023 AG, Project Phoenix was eventually transferred to Li's Redbud Group regardless of Shaw's defense. Redbud Group later co-developed the Phoenix with Ebony Research Institution, Singularity's rival.
Sneering at the original upgrade plan of Singularity, these two companies made a lot of changes ranging from adding tactical components to relocating propulsion system. But these decisions only led to worse performances. In 1025 AG, Singularity was once again in charge of this project.
The upgrade plan was back to focusing on the improvement of logistics ships' maneuverability. Researchers used new armor on the back of the craft, realigned the interior EW equipment, and upgraded dynamic combustion components by linking multiple power systems, enhancing the ship's maneuverability and firepower and increasing survivability. The type-C vacuum energy extractor and the micro pulse wormhole generator made this plan more feasible. Researchers today further upgraded the ship's processing capability and capacitor, enabling this cruiser to carry the latest components and weapons.
Singularity has recently claimed that there was still a long way to go before the Phoenix can be put into mass production, due to its high cost, and they felt sorry having to turn down the ECD's military orders for now. But it is said that the Phoenix is going viral in the black market. Could this be another way out for Singularity, who has been lacking funds throughout the modern era? After all, there are no boundaries for doing business.
