The project to upgrade the Divine battlecruiser was codenamed Celestial. The Celestial is an assault and logistics ship with balanced performance. The excellent maneuverability and sustainability allow for quick movement on complex battlefields, which enables it to provide timely supports to allies.
After Galactic War IV, the newly-formed Economic Community of Dawn was despised by some established military powers. They believed that Dawn's forces were built with massive funds and were apparently overwhelming. To counter such arguments, Dawn's Counsel Security Force (CSF) started upgrading several ships (including the Divine battlecruiser), hoping to form a regular ship lineup. In addition, they wanted to deal with increasing ship production costs through technological innovation.
At that time, the Dawn government acutely felt that relying solely on a fleet comprised of high-performing and expensive ships would be hard to sustain financially. Moreover, Dawn's CSF wanted to join efforts with the corporations that only to further their own research to develop an advanced battlecruiser with broader application. Thus, they controlled costs by applying better resource integration.
However, they failed to implement their plans, and the Celestial battlecruiser was developed by the Ebony Research Institute alone. The modern Celestial was upgraded from the Divine, with advanced weapons systems, devices, firepower, and armor. The optimized Processor Capacity and Energy Allocation allow for advanced components and weapons.
Basically, this battlecruiser has veered far from its original design except for its role on the battlefield, but it still performs well. Its cost is rising continuously, however.
