Building a Dream Team: Secret of the Swordsmith Legion

The summoning system unlocks after you clear the second chapter of the storyline, and from then on, a universe of legendary heroes will be yours to call upon, each unique and packed full of potential. With so many heroes to choose from, it can be tricky finding the best combination to form a strong lineup, so let’s take a look at a few and see what makes them stand out from the rest.

Let’s try to think about this rationally. At the start of the game, we have the following heroes:

Scott isn’t very strong, but there will be more suitable Cavalry options introduced later, and when you reach 60 points in the Path of Light event, you’ll get the SSR Flier Cherie for free, who is a perfect replacement for Lance.

Cute but Deadly

Most players will want to train up the three protagonists, as you can enhance their rarity. These three heroes, plus Cherie, can occupy four places. If we try not to be too greedy at the start, we only need to get another strong character to fill out your initial lineup. At this point, you should be aiming to summon a Mage or high-damage hero of a class different from Matthew's, so as to make better use of priority relationships between classes for easier map control. Now, I know what some of you are thinking… What if I don’t summon an SSR hero?

Don’t worry – even if lady luck isn’t smiling on you throughout your first few draws, there are plenty of strong SR heroes you can use instead.

For example, Narm the archer, the melee battlemaiden Chris, and Jessica the mage (free system gift), are all worth training up.

In addition to appearing in the regular hero summoning pool, Narm can be obtained by purchasing a special low-price gift pack, granting you immediate access to this very skilled and very powerful hero.

Chris

Heading up the charge on the battlefield, she can steal the show on stages with high concentrations of demons and can effectively function as a solo demon-slaying machine if need be.

You only need to level Jessica up to Lv.12 to unlock her "Teleport" skill, which works wonderfully on certain levels.

The young SR Mage Hein can also be trained up to become your team’s powerhouse. At Lv.25, he gains the Teleport skill, and with two single target damage skills, can effectively suppress enemy infantry and cavalry. After Lv.25, he can replace Jessica perfectly.

Cavalry Recommendations

SR Cavalry heroes Emerick and Sonya can be of great help to your lineup in the early stages of the game. Emerick can make short work of an enemy Lancer’s Guard, while Sonya’s damage is very high, and can stack a passive effect. Her early damage is comparable to that of the SSR Cavalry hero, Leon...

At this point, you can gallop around the world of Langrisser to your heart’s content!

In the early stages of the game, because your three main characters are quite weak, it’s best to replace them with powerful SR heroes. When they reach SR level themselves with the help of Time Rift dungeons, Matthew, Grenier, and Almeda can jump back into battle! And that’s our basic formation recommendation!

We'll see you next time – Good luck out there, and may the Goddess forever smile upon you!
