The Cheetah frigate inherited the lynx's assault and interception role as its successor. It grants an advantage when fighting with interception ships in blitz battles. Expanded energy systems combined with last-generation tactical components enhance its sustainability even more.
In 1031 AG, Neo-Europa initiated its ""Hammer"" project to fully upgrade its new-era ships. The Lynx frigate's upgrade was put on the agenda, carried out by the Third Military Research Institute located in Eldorado, and later named Cheetah.
After a comprehensive analysis of the Lynx's battle data, researchers proposed a relatively conservative, but absolutely meticulous upgrade preparation plan focused on enhancing the Lynx's assault and interception advantages.
The Cheetah was the upgrade of the Lynx and retained its appearance, but used re-organizable, open structural modules and a battle system with an allocatable task module. This allowed it to swap out different modules for different missions. The empty space behind the main body was equipped with a tandem propulsion system, greatly amplifying the maneuverability and agility of the Cheetah, so few targets could ever successfully escape it.
The inherited Directional Darkmatter Energy Extractor and Hived Cluster Missile Launcher from the last generation grant the Cheetah outstanding sustainability and good firepower, and also enable it to swiftly insert itself into enemy formations in the chaos of battle, with its external armor's improved resistances increasing its survivability in such battles. Now, the improved processor capability and capacitor allow more possibilities for upgrades to onboard modules(including weapons, devices, and components).
The Neo-Europan Navy believes that the Cheetah frigate has an irreplaceable role in battle when coordinating with cruisers with weak armor. In the recent border conflicts with the Oracle Empire, the Cheetah frigate accomplished interception missions on important targets with perfection.
