As the modern type of the Lancer destroyer, the Hussar serves as an interception ship with heavy armor, and has a big advantage on the battlefield when supported by ships with strong firepower. In addition, its component compatibility and processing power have constantly been in the modern age, providing space for updated weapons.
The prototype of the Hussar can be tracked back to Galactic War III (8 BG - 1 AG), where the Spartans retreated into deep space and disappeared from the public eye, then they formed the Spartan Rebellion as their ancestors did, and continually attempted to contact other defeated states in deep space. Nearly a century later, during the era of Reaper Ditri (127 AG - 251 AG), the Spartans settled down on an asteroid belt in deep space and began to develop once more. It was during this nomadic period that they discovered a new lightweight compound material with very strong resistances.
The rebellion's engineers used this material to modify a few of the Lancer Destroyers left over from the war, and named them the Hussar.
This name has now been used on the upgraded Lancer, which retains its role on the battlefield.
The modern Hussar was developed as an upgrade by the Modine Company in 936 AG. This new company, with a bold, adventurous, and gaudy design style and direction, had to tread lightly. After all, the Raptor and Bat ships they had designed before didn't perform well, and had left a bad impression on the Navy. If they had failed again, Modine Company may have had to say goodbye to ship design for good.
It was under this pressure that a design team led by Modine's Chief Designer J. Roscher Karak went against the grain of their strange ""flying pizza,"" the Bat, and the ""gaudy pirate ship,"" the Raptor. He proposed the V-338 plan, which conformed to more standard design concepts. Without changing the Hussar's ordinary appearance, they concealed innovative designs and the most advanced technology inside it. The most admirable thing about this design was the complete reworking of the propulsion system. With the modern warp disruptor, it greatly improved the Hussar's strengths in interception.
