Ship Background

As an upgraded version of the Gladiator cruiser, the Berserk cruiser assumes the role of an assault ship and interceptor, with its capacitor and processor capability greatly improved.

Just as the Gladiator listed in Project ""Hammer"", the development of the Berserk was carried out by the Ship Research Center in the Jaerda IV Near-Orbital Military Base in Vanaheim.

Soon after the successful trial flight of the Gladiator, the Neo-Europan government rolled out full-scale R&D for the next-generation battleship. The R&D results were later adopted by a large technology development project, commonly known as the ""Comprehensive Application of the Advanced Battleship Technology"" plan completely managed by Neo-Europa's Senior National Defense Research Planning Bureau. The continued improvements of the Berserk were still taken over by the Ship Research Center in the Jaerda IV Near-Orbital Military Base.

By fully integrating the derivate of the Titan Empire II's technological heritage, researchers of the Ship Research Center successfully enhanced the external armor of the ship. The greater capacitance embedded made it possible to equip the new ship with a tentative gravity thruster that was originally used by battlecruisers, enhancing the ship's assault skills.

The Berserk, just as its prototype, was equipped with an interference field generator, which allows it to effectively support its allies in battle. The Berserk as its name implies, can deal a large amount of AoE damage against enemies when the Rapid Radiant Energy Constraint Field accumulates energy.

In modern times, the Great Council's initiative and its subordinate Peacekeeping Force's existence have restricted the use of ships in all states. The Berserk wasn't put in use until twenty years ago, around 1043 AG, when a large conflict between Neo-Europa and a nomad clan called Black Wolf occurred on the border of the Niburlong system. This war gave a full play to the Berserk's strong performance in firepower, maneuverability and disruption.
