The Herald battlecruiser inherits its prototype's role as a heavy logistics ship. Its excellent armor and device compatibility make it a reliable rescuer on the battlefield.
Like its prototype, the Herald is also equipped with an Auxiliary Wave Power Storage Unit and a Hived Cluster Missile Launcher. The main artillery and ship components were upgraded to improve the ship's lethality and energy storage respectively. Moreover, the capacitor and processor capability are improved to optimize the ship's device compatibility.
The prototype of the Herald battlecruiser appeared during the Great Construction Era (400 BG - 20 BG).
In order to adapt to the changes brought about by stargate technologies, the Spartans began an arms upgrade program by the name of ""Axis."" During that time, researchers discovered a light polymer from a magnetic variable star in the outer Solar System. They fused the polymer with the composite material on the Centurion's body to create enhanced armors, and then the upgrade to the Centurion was completed and named Herald.
After that, the Herald was constantly replaced as the Centurion continued to be upgraded. An epoch-making change happened during the Enlightened Aston times (406 AG - 539 AG) after Galactic War III (8 BG - 1 AG).
In 456 AG, in order to avoid the forces of the resurgent Empire, the Spartan rebels concentrated on ship research in deep space. They managed to upgrade the Herald's weapons system, armor, capacitor, and processor capability. After having been improved in several aspects, the Herald was put into use in Galactic War IV. The Herald made a remarkable contribution to the victory of the ""Fall of the Titan"" campaign in 923 AG. If the Herald had not been used, victory would have come at a more terrible cost.
Now, The Third Military Institute of Eldorado has added a Large Reactor Energy Supply System to the Herald to improve its sustainability. In addition, the ship uses a propulsion system derived from the Second Titan Empire's technologies to improve its maneuverability.
