The Archon was created on the eve of Galactic War IV, as a final supplementary upgrade made by the Spartan Rebellion to its fleet before the war started. Compared to its prototype the Herald, it featured significant improvements to both energy allocation and processor capability. The direct outcome was that it was able to use newer arms, effectively increasing its battlefield advantages as a heavy logistics ship.
The Archon's development dates back to the States Period (700 AG-890 AG), when the Spartan Rebellion dispatched destroyers to the edges of the known universe to scout the activity of the Titan Empire. In this series of operations, the scouting team unexpectedly captured a lone Titan heavy ship. The Spartan Rebellion's engineers dismantled the ship, and after successfully replicating its technology, they used this in upgrades of their own ships. A large number of old ships that were remodeled became almost unrecognizable, and led to the birth of a group of new ships. The Archon, based on the Herald, was one of these.
The Archon was upgraded with a full set of equipments while maintaining the Herald's strengths and craftsmanship, further improving the ship's internal circuitry and coordination systems, and greatly enhancing its performance. Its upgraded armor was secure and powerful, which enabled it to perform with ease on the battlefield.
The Archon basically inherited all the strengths of its predecessor. As an virtually unassailable presence, it left a profound impression on the army of Titan Empire II. The Empire had attempted to mimic the Archon with reverse engineering until its downfall, but couldn't achieve its level in the end.
This ship has always been regarded as the pride and symbol of the Neo-Europa Military Research Department.
