As an upgrade of the Contemplative frigate, the Confessor frigate inherits the heavy equipment and the interference ability from the prototype, while ensuring the compatibility and the higher performance of exterior armors and interference components. Meanwhile, the improved capacitors and processor capacity provide more availability for advanced weapons.
From the view of its development history, considering how the Contemplative frigate was destroyed by the Second Titan Empire and then revived in the Rochard period (251 AG - 337 AG), the Contemplative frigate and the Confessor frigate were developed in the same period. Therefore, the only major difference between the two frigates is the processor capacity.
The ship's birth has a dramatic story.
During the Rochard period of the Titan Empire, a research group comprised of Deus Faith believers obtained a bloody blueprints, and started the development of the Contemplative frigate with greatly enhanced performance. However, the limited technological conditions at that time meant that their dreams exceeded their reach. Therefore, the research team split into two groups. One tried to copy the blueprint and restore the original Contemplative, and the other sought to upgrade the prototype by changing the core system.
However, the research carried out by the latter group was vetoed by a majority in Hem-Netjer, as the research was seen as blasphemy against the Contemplative. If this ship was to be developed based on something other than the original blueprint, the blood spilled to obtain it would have been spilled in vain.
This research continued, off and on, for nearly 500 years and across the changing policies of the Second Titan Empire. Finally, the Confessor's development was completed in the States period (710 AG - 890 AG) near the end of the Second Titan Empire.
Generations after Galactic War IV, the Bakr research institute used its research into the technological heritage of the Second Titan Empire to further modify the Confessor. The enhanced firepower, defense, processor capacity, and speed made a great difference. It made it even easier to equip energy-intensive components and equipment. Moreover, exterior armors with high intensity were removed to ensure high speed, but the energy-intensive shields made up for this.
