The Succubus destroyer is the modern version of the Serpent destroyer. It takes on the battlefield role of electronic interception, with extraordinary sustainability and powerful interception enhancement. After the revamp of its ship-based energy allocation system and improvements to its processor capability, this ship is well equipped for more powerful arms upgrades in the future.
Tracing the ship name back to its roots, ""Succubus"" came from the Affeyeh period, and was how Hem-Netjer referred to this empress.
The Succubus was an upgrade of the Serpent, and was also created during the Affeyeh period, but the empress never lived to see the Succubus' debut. The arrival of the Great Construction Era(390 BG - 20 BG) once again improved the standing of Hem-Netjer, and this ship's development was terminated with all the research materials destroyed. It wasn't until the ""Godless Era"" (280 BG - 110 BG) that research into the Succubus began anew.
Carrying over the Serpent's role on the battlefield, the Succubus also had superb agility and firepower systems, and adopted the electronic ship design like the comprehensively upgraded Serpent did in order to guarantee its sustainability. But like its prototype, its unique development background led the ship to step out of the spotlight when the relationship between Hem-Netjer and royal family relieved.
After Galactic War IV, the Oracle Empire was excluded by the other states due to its unique religion and its historical disputes with the Titan Empire. In this unfriendly international environment, the royal house of Nihad was forced to reconsider its strategy. It would have to upgrade its ships, and so the Succubus was brought onto the stage.
The Succubus' upgrade was experimental. It was mainly developed as a pursuit destroyer, hence its improvements were mainly on the propulsion system. Looking back, it was actually the upgrade of the Succubus that marked the beginning of the Oracle Empire's first technological reform in recent years.
Researchers developed the Succubus type-II by designing a comprehensive digital firepower system and resistant armor. In 953 AG, type-IIs were fully deployed, after the old type ships retired, type-II ships were then called the Succubus destroyer instead.
In 958 AG, the ship's onboard OS calculation power and power converter were both upgraded, effectively improving its survivability in combat.
Even in the Oracle's own territory, devout followers still refuse to pilot the Succubus, but there is still an unending stream of lords and military leaders placing orders. They believe that what is truly appealing about the Succubus is something only those who have piloted it can understand: You can never forget it once you've tried.
