The Fagus frigate is an upgrade of the Chestnut frigate, and a product of 1st Great Military Industrial Development Period (902 AG-910 AG)in modern-era Svarus.
The Fagus frigate was created in 912 AG, when the long-standing problem of low processor capability and high base energy cost facing Svarn ships was improved upon by advanced technology from the United Rebellion Organization during Galactic War IV.
It was for this very reason that the Fagus was declared by Neo-Europa a product created through the shameless theft of their technology. The Svarn government claimed that the conceptual design scheme was created around 887 AG, when Svarn modern military technology began to surge, and was postponed due to unstable international relations.
Inspired by unquestionable patriotism,the top military designers completed the ship's design during Galactic War IV. They equipped the ship with the latest power system and improved the design of the elongated railgun, making it the prototype of the Fagus.
Although the design hadn't met the requirements of its early development plans, considering the sudden escalation of the war, the first batch of experimental Fagus crafts were put into battle to fight alongside Whinstone cruisers, which were also unstable at the time.
After modifications, the Fagus received a further enhancement to its effective firepower within combat radius, but to keep its speed up, certain flaws were neglected in its armor design, which is the reason Svarus devoted its attention to the development of the Ragebear frigate after it.
Now, Svarn designers have optimized the usage rate of the ship's components with regard to its processor capability and energy, allowing more room for customization with the extra resources.
According to the Dawn's intelligence agency's analysis, the ship's actual production volume far exceeded the need of the military. A reasonable explanation would be that the Udaloy Association sold a large number of Fagus crafts on the black market.
