Frigate Std. Ion Thruster III
Thruster
Boosts your ship's velocity by 100% for 30s.
The Ragebear frigate is one of the most outstanding frigates in Svarn today. As a successor of the Warbear frigate, the Ragebear maintains its role as a heavy interception ship, and its strong firepower ensures its remarkable performance in escort missions. Although the Ragebear has yet received the recognition it deserves from international military commentators, most Svarn soldiers still see it as their favorite.
The birth of the Ragebear frigate suffered a series of frustrations. In 873 AG, Svarus launched an arms program to deal with the newborn and powerful Economic Community of Dawn (ECD), and the Ragebear, whose code name was 107, was included in the program. Based on the requirements, the upgrade covered the ship's inner structure, weapons system, and electronic devices, which made the Ragebear quite different from the other two ships in the ""Bearclaw"" series. In addition, a compact structure was required to arrange internal components, which provided more space for the advanced processor.
Being such a tough task, the development of the Ragebear was executed by the researchers of the Blackbear frigate. Actually, only a simple prototype of the Ragebear was developed at that time. Although the improvements to the processor were obvious, its capability was still not high enough.
After that, the development of the ship was postponed due to a series of issues, including political ones and economic ones. Therefore, it was in 879 AG that the subsequent development of the Ragebear and the Warbear started.
The development lasted a decade, and a trial flight was eventually initiated in 887 AG. At the end of that year, the Ragebear was accepted by the army. However, the ship was not on active service immediately, which was largely due to errors in the new command & control system and ad-hoc changes during the ship's construction. But based on these experiences, some technical issues were settled during the construction of regular cruisers.
Now, the ship designers of Svarus further improve the Ragebear's processor capability and capacitor, enabling the ship to be equipped with high-tech components.
