Ship Background

The Coldrain destroyer has formidable firepower, which is suitable for playing the role of fire support. After sixty years of improvement, the perfect balance between firepower and speed now grants the ship advantages when intercepting fleeing targets.

In fact, the prototype of the Coldrain can be traced back more than a thousand years. It was in the Dark Ages (33 AG - 264 AG) when the Oracle Empire took over Svarus after the rise of the Titan.

In their most humiliating two hundred years ever, the bloody Svarn people were thoroughly disappointed with the compromises made by their weak government. The seeds of rebellion were ready to burst out from the frozen ground. There was no doubt that bloody crackdowns would follow. When the rebels in Svarus learnt that the next dominator would be a noble who was important to the Oracle Empire's Royal House, 318 rebels decided to develop a destroyer with intensive firepower.

Therefore, the prototype of the Coldrain was created by these mathematician, engineers, and even blacksmiths and painters. But this chapter of history didn't have a happy ending. The government established a freeman residence permit with a validity of 30 years, and one of the 318 rebels turned traitor. The remaining 317 rebels were executed, together with their families and friends. Blood makes cowards servile, makes common people hesitate, and makes bloodthirsty become heroes.

During Galactic War IV, in memory of the Coldrain, Svarn designers redesigned and manufactured the ship based on old blueprints. The original name Coldrain was retained.

Like classic Svarn destroyers, the Coldrain that was born in 903 AG has its defense systems attached on the lower wings. The ship also adopts a Vortex Hedging Cooling System, which absorbs excessive energy from activated main turrets and components. The energy is then used to recharge the ship to increase the cooling rate, which improves the ship's firepower.

This improvement boosts the Coldrain's performance when using intensive dogfight weapons. This design was retained for subsequent upgrades to the Coldrain, which also became a classic design for Svarn destroyers.
