The Hail Destroyer appeared in 998 AG as the latest destroyer of Svarus. The balanced performance of speed and firepower earned it a place among the vanguard ships.
It inherited the basic design of the Blizzard destroyer, and was part of the Grand Motherland arms project. The project was aimed to finish in 991 AG, but was postponed due to a purging movement in Svarus after the Battle of Revelation in 983 AG. At that time, the main structures of Hail's hull and bridge had been completed with main power and propulsion systems installed, but because of the long period for which it had been shelved, some parts suffered damage. In addition, some parts consisting of rare metals were taken during the purging movement. The donkey engine, and combat and armor systems weren't installed, and the installation of its voyage propulsion device weren't finished.
The design was not resumed until November 996 AG when Svarus rebooted the Grand Motherland project.
The follow-up revamp included structural changes. The 12 sets of anti-ship railgun launchers at the bow were replaced with brand new compressive super-range railgun SK-3 in order to expand the internal space. This enabled new combat command systems and energy compression devices to increase the ship's maximum energy. The original silo areas were relaid with regionalized armor to protect the effective yet fragile power systems.
In addition, thanks to the full set of the ship's electronic core blueprints and conceptual ship component designs recovered from Hygara remains in Galactic War IV, the Hail destroyer's processing system received a comprehensive upgrade in 1006 AG, enabling more thorough support for ship customization.
Since then, the Hail has become the most symbolic Svarn destroyer, but due to its high cost, the navy hasn't added it to the arms list yet.
